SPECIAL CULINARY GUEST SPEAKER At 11:00 a.m., meet Oslo, Norway’s celebrated Waffle Queen, Stine (Stee-nah) Åsland, founder of Nordic Waffles franchise and noted cookbook author named 2010’s Norway Female Entrepreneur of the Year! Enjoy Stine’s waffle-making demonstration and taste testing; purchase an autographed copy of her book, We Love Waffles, if desired.

DINE-TOGETHER BRUNCH Adults & children will enjoy an authentic, homemade Norwegian Meatballs With Gravy (Kjøttkaker med brun saus) dinner—a real crowd-pleaser. Beverages of water, coffee, tea will be available.

Watch the NRK-TV's high-end television series about the Riksforsamling/Constitutional Assembly of 1814. 1814 The Series is in Norwegian and you may not understand all of it, BUT you will certainly ‘get the gist of it all’! Season 1 (the only season) has four segments, with over four hours of viewing time total, and it’s still a highly recommended series for Eidsvollsmen descendants and completely worth a look-see on your computer, at your leisure, for a glorious gander into the life our Constitutional Assembly ancestors—Norway’s Founding Fathers—and their long-living historical work in the Miracle Year of 1814 at https://tv.nrk.no/serie/1814.

It’s well cast and the imagination doesn’t have to wander too far to be able to pick out well-known and key political figures; the tone in voices is telling and the music is great, too! Our Purpose

Founded in 2008 by ECONA President Michael J. Bovre, an American descendant of Eidsvollman Niels Johannesen Loftesnæs (1789-1848). The purpose of the Eidsvollsmen Council of North America, a 501(c)(3) non-profit cultural/heritage organization, is to establish and maintain a collection of books, periodicals, documents, reproductions and other genealogical materials relating to Norwegian-American descendants of Norway's Founding Fathers at Eidsvoll, Norway on 17 Mai 1814; to collect, preserve, research and publish materials concerning Eidsvollsmen genealogy; conduct council meetings, conferences and seminars to educate members of Eidsvoll's history of 17 Mai 1814. ECONA'S Syttende Mai Annual Assembly is held on or near May 17th of every year.
